He lived in Los Angeles, California from age 13 until June 15, 2012 then returned to Texas. Mr. Charles Ross is a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He enlisted in 1969 and was honorably discharged in 1972. After the military he was hired by the U. S. Postal Service and retired after working 30 years in 2003.
52 years ago, in 1972, he met Maxinne H. Ross. They married in 1974. This year on May 21, 2024 they were looking forward with joy to celebrate their golden 50 years marriage with their son, Timothy and Juliette. They will be married 25 years, their Silver Anniversary.
Shortly after their marriage Charles told Maxi she was his Pumpkin. That's what he loved to call her. She told him she doesn't like pumpkin pie nor pumpkin spice. He told her it didn't sound right to call her Sweet Potato Pie. Years later she began to call him 'Pop'. Until his death they are Pumpkin and Pop.
Pop Ross was a gentleman, loving, courteous, kind, worthy of respect and honor. Most importantly, Pop Ross is saved, born again believer in Jesus Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit. He was a quiet worshipper and loved God with all his heart. For him to live is Christ, and to die is gain as stated in Philippians 1:21.

They have 3 sons. Pop Ross' first born son is Timothy Charles Ross. He is married to Juliette. Pop always called her "Baby Girl". Darren L. is the first born son of mother, Maxi Ross. Myles Edward Ross, the youngest son born to Pop Charles Ross and mother, Maxi Ross. He preceded his Dad in death on September 17, 2004.
Pop Ross loves his eight grandchildren; Amber Marie Johnson, Brittnie Moran Ross, Alicia Katrina Marie Ross, Ashley Renee Ross, Myles Edward Ross, II, Justice LaShawn Johnson, Timothy Nathan Karl Ross and Noah Samuel Livingston. He leaves one brother, John Mark Ross and five sisters; Gloria Jean, Sharon Jeanette, Rose Mary, Donna Teresa and Diana LaCheryl.
Funeral service will be Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 11am at Embassy City Church; 6300 N. Belt Line Road; Irving, Texas 75063
