Carol Beth Roper, of Corinth, Texas, passed away on Friday June 28, 2024. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born on February 10, 1935, to Davida Morrow Burkhalter and Wyatt Littleton Burkhalter. She married Ralph Roper on August 17, 1952, and at the time of Ralph's death, they had been married for 67 years.
Beth also loved to crochet. She was passionate about crocheting sleeping mats made from grocery sacks, that she donated to the Salvation Army. She and Ralph spent 31 years volunteering with The Doug Eudaley Chapter of Volunteer Christian Builders of First Baptist Church Grapevine. There are many churches in different states that they helped build or repair. They met so many lifelong and treasured friends during the week of July 4th each year.
Beth is survived by her son, Steve Roper (Mary) of Lake Dallas, Texas, daughter Carolyn Roper (Barb) of Norfolk Virginia, daughter-in-law Marta Roper (Jack) of Southlake, Texas. She is also survived by granddaughters Holly Patrick (Woody), Julie Elliott (Robert), Becca Collins (Jeff), and great-grandchildren Logan Patrick, Estella Patrick, Lily Patrick, Katie Grace Elliott, and Jackson Elliott. Beth was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, son Jack, grandson Jeff, mother Davida, father Wyatt, and siblings Harold, Dan, Sue, and Buzz.
The family would sincerely like to thank the staff at Corinth Suites on the Parkway and the staff at Trio Hospice. Your dedication to her care was very much appreciated.
