She was born on May 27, 1932 in St. Louis, MO to George and Ruth Van Sickle. She lived in St. Louis until 2004 when she made Texas her home.
She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, spiritual mother and friend to all who knew and loved her.
Affectionately known as “Grandma Honey” by her family due to her sweet disposition, Carol was a pillar of hope and kindness in her community. She selflessly gave of her time and energy to her family, local church, and numerous charitable organizations.
Carol is survived by her three children Kathy Lange (Tom Lefebvre), Susan Hixson (Chuck Hixson), and Scott Lange (Tammy Lange); six grandchildren; Joshua Hixson, Benjamin Hixson and wife Tanya, Sarah Woessner and husband Phillip, Liam Lefebvre, Will Lange, and Luke Lange; and great-grandchildren Faith, Benjamin Jr., and Evelyn; sister, Joann Thomas and brother, Stewart Van Sickle.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Ruth Van Sickle, brother George Van Sickle Jr., and her three sisters Ruth, Betty, and Barbara.
The celebration of life service will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. on Monday, September 23 at Keller's Old Town Funeral Home, 220 Keller Parkway, Keller, TX. A reception from 5 to 7 p.m. will follow.
