Carmen Odessa Rickman Camp of Grapevine, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 3rd, at the age of 97. She was born on September 20th, 1926 in Copeville, Texas where she grew up on a farm with her parents and seven siblings.
She graduated from Farmersville High School in 1944, and worked as a bookkeeper prior to getting her cosmetology license.
She enjoyed painting, sewing, reading, visiting with her family and friends, and attending bible study. She was actively involved in the Grapevine Church of Christ since the 1950's.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Edd Camp; her parents Warner K. and Gertie Green Rickman; sisters Dorothy Huffaker, Pauline Mays, Modine Wallace, and Wilma Bennett; brothers Clarence Rickman, Hershel Rickman, and Troy Rickman; and her granddaughter, Danielle Flud.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam Camp Mitchell, son Jeff Camp and his wife, Annie; grandchildren, Lori Winstead, Elizabeth and her husband, Ryan Nixon, Sarah Camp and her fiance, Liam Balaski, Matt Schneckenburger and his wife, Liz, Megan and her husband, Ted Stone; great-grandchildren, Hunter Bayerl and his wife, Kinsey, Grant Winstead, LJ Winstead, Sophia Schneckenburger, and Myles Schneckenburger. She is also survived by dozens of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Keller Oaks Healthcare Center for the care and compassion they showed Carmen in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home 5725 Colleyville Blvd. Colleyville, TX 75218 on Friday, February 16th at 12 p.m. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 a.m.
