Remembering the Life of Alice White
Alice White, passed away into the loving arms of her Savior, Monday, December 11th, 2023, in Bedford, Texas.
Alice was born September 2nd, 1933 to Elma and Herbert Burzlaff in Claremont, Minnesota. She attended school in Claremont and graduated in 1951. She attended Bethany Lutheran College and Concordia Teachers' College in River Forest, Illinois, before returning to Minnesota to complete her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Mankato State University. She taught for 6 years in parochial schools in Storm Lake, Iowa and St. James, Minnesota.
In 1967, she moved to Preston, Minnesota where she taught the remaining 30 years of her career at the elementary school until her retirement in 1996.
Alice married James White on April 13th, 1968. They celebrated 24 years of marriage before his passing. Alice lived in Preston, Minnesota until 1996, then moved to Owatonna, Minnesota to help care for her mother.
In 2006, she moved to Grapevine, Texas where she lived for the remainder of her life.
Alice loved gardening, reading and writing short inspirational stories in her retirement. Her one great joy was when she was able to travel to the Holy Lands and follow the steps of Jesus. She was a passionate Christian and spoke of this trip often, sharing her amazing faith and love of the Lord.
Alice is survived by numerous family and friends who will miss her greatly, although we rejoice in her eternal salvation.
Funeral will be held on December 27th at 1:00 PM at Pleasant Glade Baptist Church, 3708 Glade Road, in Colleyville, Texas.
