Randy Landreth of College Station and Willis, Texas passed away on September 10, 2016 at his home surrounded by those closest to him. Randy was born October 14, 1946 in Itasca, Texas the son of R.J. and Allene Grantham Landreth. He married Mary Lynn Janac on April 5, 1986.
The family will receive friends at 10:30 AM, Friday, September 16, 2016 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station with a Memorial Service to begin at 11:00 AM.
Randy enjoyed spending time with friends and family whether it was at the lake, on the ski slopes, hunting pottery and antiques, or gamely watching dance recitals and ball games. He could often be found relaxing on the porch with family while smoking a good cigar and enjoying a fresh cup of coffee. He was known for his delicious pecan pies which everyone enjoyed during the holidays.
Randy attended school in Waxahachie, Texas. Following his graduation, Randy began his working career in the grocery business as a meat cutter. After many years of freezing in the cutting room, Randy decided to embrace his love for adventure and the road, driving a truck for more than 20 years. In his retirement he continued to enjoy road trips with family and was always up for a scenic drive.
A great conversationalist, Randy always took an interest in those around him to make them feel comfortable and welcomed. His quick wit and kind heart made him treasured company by friends and family. Randy will be remembered for his heart, humor, resilience, and dedication.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald Perry Landreth.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Landreth; daughter, Anna Volley; sisters, Pat Turner & her husband James, and Brenda Cobb; brothers and sister-in-laws, Joe Janac, Barbara & Bobby Lebow, Jimmy & Shelley Janac, David & Leslie Janac; nieces & nephews, Terry & Amber Lease, Randi & Dustin Patrick, Jarred & Hannah Adams, RexAnne & Mike Coad, Amy Janac , Christopher & Heather Lebow, Keith & Shelly Janac, Rebecca & Spencer Kroencke, Kate Taylor, Beth & Tony Newton, Adam & Carolyn Janac; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial donation to your favorite charity in honor of Randy’s life.
