Pat J. Griffin, 84, of College Station passed away March 10, 2017 at the West Rest Haven Nursing Home in West, Texas. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, March 13, 2017 At Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:30 AM, Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at College Station Cemetery.
Pat was born February 28, 1933 in Abilene, Texas, the daughter of A. J. and Christine Gray Brewster. She was married to Bob J. Griffin and together they raised four children. Pat was an active and faithful member of the First Baptist Church in College Station, and Past President of the Brazos County Extension Service Club. She and her husband traveled extensively in addition to leading trips for their Sunday School class and youth trips at church. Pat was extremely loving to family and friends, but especially to her grandchildren. She was known for her love of gardening, playing bridge and for being the “World’s Greatest Cook!”
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bob J. Griffin in 2003; her son, Jo Griffin; and a sister, Bobbie Jeffrey.
Survivors include her children, Bruce Griffin & his wife Dianne of West; Mark Griffin & his wife Carol of West; Patti Gay Garrett & her husband Paul of Bryan; daughter-in-law, Diane Griffin of Somerset, MA; brother, Bill Brewster & his wife Kay of League City; six grandchildren, Brad Griffin & wife Tracie, Sarah Griffin, Ben Griffin, Elise Martinez & husband Matthew, Jacob Griffin, and Laura Beck; five great-grandchildren, Kylie Griffin, Kelcie Griffin, Collin Griffin, Aiden Griffin, and Natalie Martinez.
If friends desire, the family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
