Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. Interment will follow at Peach Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
Linda was born April 13, 1943 in Ft. Scott, Kansas the daughter of Albert Leon and Ruth Marie (Ballinger) Combs. She graduated from Ft. Scott High School. Linda was happily married to Dale for fifty-three years and they enjoyed a lifetime of adventures together. She and Dale attended Rhema Bible School in Broken Arrow, OK and were founding members of Faith Christian Center in Ft. Scott, KS. Linda had a servant’s heart and was the happiest having her family around her and taking care of them. Her grandchildren were one of her greatest priorities and her strong faith in God has been a positive influence on each of their lives. All children had a special place in Linda’s heart and she supported several children’s ministries throughout her life. She was fond of the outdoors and loved her horses and working with the cattle. Linda was the co-founder of Sew Vac City and Arrow C Ranch. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and Faith Christian Center.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Beverly McReynolds.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Carpenter of College Station; son, Doug Carpenter of College Station; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Mark Wynn of College Station; sisters, Alberta Fisher of Arma, KS., and Sherry Hendrickson of Georgetown; brother, Albert Leon Combs Jr. of Girard, KS; grandchildren, Jonathan Wynn of Austin, Kaitlin Wynn, Faith Carpenter, Ariel Carpenter, Paula Carpenter and Tony Carpenter all of College Station.
