Leonor was born to Leo Mendez, Sr. and Donicia Mendez in Lockhart, TX. Leonor married her beloved
husband, Ambrose Barron, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. Together, they raised three daughters,and were blessed with two grandchildren, as well as a cherished great-granddaughter.
She found great joy in spending time with her friends and family, playing bingo, coloring, and crafting beautiful handmade jewelry. A woman of deep faith, Leonor volunteered at St. Thomas Aquinas Church and St. Vincent de Paul, always ready to lend a hand to those in need. She also had a special way of staying connected with the world around her. Whether it was the latest happenings at the nursing home where she lived or the most recent family news, she delighted in sharing the latest scoop—with just the right amount of flair and humor.
She is survived by her husband, three daughters, son-in-law, two grandchildren, and a great-
granddaughter. She also leaves behind a sister, and extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be held on October 4, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 2541Earl Rudder Freeway, College Station, TX, with a visitation on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 6:00 pm, followed by a rosary at 6:30 pm at Memorial Funeral Home, 2901 Texas Ave. S., College Station, TX.
Leonor will be remembered for her commitment to helping others and being of service. She will be deeply
missed by all who knew and loved her, but her legacy of kindness and love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul in Bryan, TX, in her memory.
