Joyce is survived by her three children, Catherine A. Kapchinski, Sylvester Kapchinski and wife, Deborah, and Vincent P. Kapchinski; one brother, Kenneth L. Jennings and wife, Shirley; and three loving grandchildren, Emily, Eric and Joshua.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Sam Kapchinski; mother, Helena E. Jennings; father, Jimmy Eguene Jennings; and brother, James Norman Jennings.
She met her beloved husband, Henry Sam, after a blind date that was arranged by a cousin to attend a dance in Anderson, Texas. During her lifetime, she moved from Houston in 1956 to Bryan until 1964 where she moved to College Station in 1965 until her passing. Joyce attended nursing school, worked at Southwestern Bell Phone Company in Houston and in 1957 became a stay at home mom.
Joyce had an immense love of animals especially stray cats; she was compassionate and helped show love for God's creatures. Her devotion and faith included reciting the Holy Rosary and attending weekly mass; her faith allowed her to treat others with respect and provide a helping hand when needed.
The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Accel at College Station and Allumine Hospice.
A visitation for Joyce will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Memorial Funeral Chapel - College Station with a recitation of holy rosary at 1:00 PM. A funeral mass is set for Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 3:00 PM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with burial to follow to Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
