Jimmy was born December 25, 1948 in Los Angeles, CA. the son of James Franklin and Doris Edna (Webb) Jackson. He grew to love the beach and it was always his favorite place to go. He moved to Beaumont, Texas at the age of 13 and settled in College Station at age 17. He bought a Texaco Service Station in Bryan at age 17 and his mom had to sign the papers since he was not old enough yet. He met Michele at A&M Consolidated High School and when he saw her again in an orange crepe dress he had to have her for his wife. They were happily married for more than 43 years. He attended Texas A&M for a short time while he ran the Texaco, then decided to go into the service station business full time. Over the next 40+ years he built and owned two Exxon Service Stations and car washes in College Station and Bryan with Michele at his side. He owned the 16th Street Station Nightclub in Huntsville as well. During the years he made lifelong friends of employees, customers and more. After selling the Exxons in 2001, he built a home with his family in the country and enjoyed spending his time growing tomatoes and spending time with his wife Michele, his kids and his grandkids. He was always ready for the next Jackson family adventure.
His passion was always working on cars and talking with his customers, good food and most of all his family. Jimmy was always smiling, with a huge personality and always ready to have a chat if he saw you somewhere. He was very supportive, caring and protective of every one that he met. When his children were growing up he coached multiple sports teams for them and enjoyed mentoring all of their friends and he was always the fun Dad. He was the soul mate to Michele, Daddy to Keith and Jennifer, and Grandpa and Apa to Gracie, Jackson and Jameson. He was very adventurous and the instigator of all of the family adventures all over the USA and Mexico, most of them in the motor home.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, baby sister, Tana Jean Jackson, brother-in-law, Will Edmonds and mother-in-law, Ellie Edmonds.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Michele Jackson of College Station; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Sabina Jackson of College Station; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jeff Thomas of Bedford; grandchildren, Gracie Jackson, Jackson Thomas and Jameson Thomas; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Tricia Jackson of Bryan; nephews, Jason Jackson of Hawaii and Aaron Jackson of Bryan; father-in-law, W.S.
