Herbert Ray Cole, 84, of College Station, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2012. Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. Graveside services will be held Monday, February 13, 2012 at 2 p.m. at New Church Cemetery in Edge.
Herbert was born September 1, 1927 to David and Ida Cole. Upon retirement from International Shoe, he was a partner in Cole Trucking and was a truck driver for the company. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Leo, Herman, Brent, Ben; sister Azeal Musgrove, grandson Kevin Cole and daughter-in-law Georgia Cole.
Survivors include his wife, Golda McDonald Cole of College Station; two sons and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Jo Ann Cole of Bryan and David Cole and Mary Lynn Hegar of Milican; a sister Mary Lou Dawkins of Normangee; two grandsons Michael Chad Cannon of College Station and Brandon Cole of Fort Worth; three granddaughters Katie Cole Buckley and her husband, Jeremy of College Station, Kimberly Cole of Fort Worth, Jenna Cole Rosier and her husband, Kevin of Wellborn; three great-grandchildren, Austin Buckley, David L. Rosier, and Alexis Rosier.
The Golda and family especially wish to thank the staff at the Isle of Watercrest for their warm and personal care to Herbert during his stay there. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Church Cemetery c/o Earl Leighman 17333 FM 974 Bryan, Texas 77808.
