George was born on January 30, 1939 in Bryan, Texas. He was born to John Walter (J.W.) and Theda Cobb Hamilton and was their only child. George graduated from Texas A&M with both his Bachelor and Master's degree and went on to teach Science and Photography at A&M Consolidated High School. A life-long Texas Aggie fan, he traveled with the Texas A&M football team as a videographer for a number of years. After retirement, he returned to teaching at the Hamilton Unit of TDCJ, a facility that had been named for his father.
George served as a reserve deputy with the Brazos County Sheriff's Department. He was also a wedding photographer, bus driver, and a farmer. He loved spending time caring for his cows. George was a member of Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church in Bryan.
George was preceded in death by the love of his life, wife Louise Peacock Hamilton and his parents, J.W. and Theda Hamilton. He leaves behind his brother-in-law and wife, Rodney (Terri) Brown, his sister-in-law, Sondra Smith, his nephew Kelly (Pauline) Brown, three nieces, Terry (Jose) Morales, Shannon (Chris) Carter, and Kassie (John) Black. George has 9 great-nieces and nephews, along with numerous friends and former students.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 19th from 10 AM to noon at the Memorial Funeral Home at College Station. Following visitation, there will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Bright Light Free Will Cemetery in Bryan, Texas with Pastor Doug Dickey officiating the service.
The family would like to thank Hudson Creek Memory Care, Enhabit Home Health and Hospice, and Heritage Hospice for their care of George.
