I am so sorry to hear about Gary's passing. We didn't work closely every day, however when we got the opportunity it was always a pleasure. You don't find many people with the passion, expertise and drive to help that he possessed. He will be missed.

It was a really sad moment for me to hear the passing of Gary.  My condolences to close family of Gary and this world lost a very passionate person. Gary was so passionate and  knowledgeable  around analysers and water measurements and purification . As that was also my history we could quickly align. He was often stubborn but an amazing personality and special humor.

I worked with Gary at Hach and quickly realized what a special soul he was.  Gary ALWAYS made me laugh and he was a listener.  And yes, his jokes were a great break from reality :)  Rest in Peace Gary

Shortly after I hired Gary into GE in 2014 or so, he had tremendous problems with his back.  He was in CO, away from his family and with little support as he went in and out of hospitals.  Even then, he would drag himself into work, prop himself against a wall, try to ignore the pain and talk passionately about how we could make a better analyzer, better serve a customer or support the sales team, accomplish something meaningful despite the tremendous challenges.  He brought uncommon commitment and creativity to everything he did, and inspired those around him to do the same.  He could be extremely difficult and cantankerous, and I truly appreciated him for it – he didn’t settle for easy or almost; half-measures were unacceptable.  He was the right guy – maybe the only guy – for a very difficult job.  

He'd curse me for hiring him and I'd curse him for staying.  And then we’d go for a beer… 

On a personal level, we spent a great deal of time together and I got to experience a complex personality – one that was warm and witty, proud of and devoted to his family; a person who chose friends carefully, but once chosen, was immediately and immensely loyal.  He had high expectations of others, but offered boundless support and encouragement to those willing to accept it.  Even his jokes – intentionally selected to be terrible, I’m certain – were a reflection of his unique and mischievous composition.  

I offer my sincere condolences and consolations to his family, and thank you for sharing Gary with those of us who worked with him.  

To Gary, from a fellow sailor… fair winds and following seas my friend.  (And, please, take it easy on the jokes the first few weeks in Heaven; ease them into it….)  ;-)


I was very sad to hear about Gary's passing. Gary was the first person to join a new sales team I was building in 2017. The team and I relied heavily on his industry expertise. He had a knack for making something complex easily comprehensible. He was a visionary person with deep knowledge and experience. While traveling together, Gary always kept me laughing about his days in the Navy. I quickly learned that Gary had a very dry sense of humor. If he was teasing you, then it meant he liked you. I will certainly miss him.  My condolences to his family.

And to Gary, rest in peace my friend. 

Saddened to hear the news of Gary passing.  I worked with Gary over the years and his customer focus, drive, and commitment were next to none.  I remember a customer situation where we had exhausted all resources and it boiled down to the fact that we needed Gary's expertise and knowledge to solve the issue.  Unfortunately he was traveling internationally at the time and was unavailable, so I thought.  Next thing I know Gary is onsite with this customer in person!   Turns out, Gary had a layover in Chicago on his way home from his overseas trip and drove 100 miles 1 way from O'hare to see this customer and resolve their issue.  Rest in peace Gary.  You will be sorely missed.  My deepest condolences to your family.  

With him, I exactly remember happy time I spent on several Korean customers sites.  Sometimes we had hard situation but he made me relaxed with good smile and wit in dealing with work, and sometimes showed trust with seriousness. I can't forget the dinner we had together, the time and the kind look in his eyes. I wish his family's deep consolation, and peace to my eternal friend Gary.

I met Gary over 30 years ago and our professional relationship quickly developed into a personal friendship. A truly supportive friend, his self-deprecating sense of humor always lightened the mood. His love for his family was extremely evident - wife Angela, daughters Megan and Georgie. He was very proud of all of you.
He will be missed. God Bless Gary. 

Gary, we met several time in Paris, in Europe or in Boulder for work activities with GE/Suez . 
You was a true original person ,  I will definitively  remember your deep passion for the analyzers and  your great humour that add spice and intensity to the life.

I met Gary in a Meeting when we were GE; I remember a dinner and we were sitting in the same table; he was so friendly and we  spoke about recipes all the time.
I wish him to rest in peace.

Despite his gruff exterior, Gary was the best mentor I can ever hope to have when we first became colleagues four years ago. He never hesitated to share his knowledge and experience, while his wit and encouraging words remain a treasured memory for me till this day. Condolences to his family, and please know that he will be missed.

Gary was a kind of people that was inspiring me. I had the opportunity to met him in Paris and his passion and devotion to his job was impressive. Everything he was aying was bullet proof on deep knowledge and willing to improve. No filter, No limits. He was a great guy. Rest in peace.  I will keep in mind those times.

Having worked with Gary for over 30 years, I can say he was the best analyzer salesman I ever met. I thank God today for the privilege he gave us to work together in the latter part of our careers.  A brilliant analytical mind, strong character and deep passion for his family will be how I remember Gary. Rest In Peace My Dear Friend.

I will always remember Gary's smile. He was a big man with a even bigger heart and was always ready to help.
Gary can be stubborn sometimes. But when you come around to understand his point of views, things do make sense.

I worked with Gary at GE and we built a relationship early on because we both were hired around the same time, liked to drink beer and play cribbage.  Gary and I would go to our little watering hole a couple times a month to play cribbage.  He always won.  We had great conversations about our lives and our families.  Gary loved his family and always wanted to be around them.  I will miss Gary and I pray for those he left behind and that he may rest in peace.

Gary was a big help to me when I started with Suez just a couple of years back. He would gladly assist me without hesitation on new projects, some that took up quite a bit of his time, and a few he unselfishly had to  travel for to come out of his territory to assist me.     If I needed an "answer fast" Gary would always pick up the phone, and called frequently to check if I needed assistance with anything.   Gary will be sorely missed.  -JW

Gary's dry sense of humor never failed to make me laugh!  You would think he was so serious about something and then he would give you a look or smile to let you in on the joke.  He never backed away from speaking his mind and addressing the tough questions and issues with candor and straight forwardness that is very rare.

He will be missed by our team and may God rest his soul.

Just heart broken on Gary's passing. He was a great guy, very intelligent, civic minded, talented, loyal and hard-working. A man you could count on. Thought of him frequently and should have called but just didn't do it. We all lost a good friend.--Jim, Maria, Chris and Robert
