Eva Jane Thompson, 88, of College Station, passed away at her home on February 6, 2010. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, February 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel College Station. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at College Station Cemetery.
Eva was born on May 16, 1921 in Troy, Ohio to Samuel and Mary Shepard. Eva graduated from valedictorian of St. Paris High School in 1939. After high school she attended and graduated from Ohio State University’s College of Medicine School of Nursing in 1945. Eva married Louis Jean Thompson on February 23, 1946. Since 1948 she has been a loyal member of the Church of Christ. Eva was a registered nurse in both Ohio and Texas and was heavily involved in taking care of illiterate elderly widows and abused children.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Mary Shepard; daughter, Cynthia Pinion; brother, Ira Treavor Shepard; Sister, Letisha Florio.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Louis Jean Thompson of College Station; her three sons Louis Burk Thompson, of Goodrich, Michigan, Jonathan Mark Thompson, of Bryan, Texas, Craig Kent Thompson of Marietta Georgia; brother, Samuel Eugene Shepard of Blessville Ohio; brother-in-law Kenny Thompson of Big Spring, Texas; 6 grandsons; 2 great grandsons; and 1 great granddaughter;
