Ceredo Reed Mullins, 96, of College Station passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Even though the family is grieved by her loss, they know that Heavenly Father has taken her home.
A visitation is scheduled at 9:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 10th, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2814 Welch, College Station, TX 77845. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at the College Station Cemetery.
Ceredo (Cyd) was born to Calli Hill Reed and Mary Huff in Floyd County, KY on June 11, 1918. After growing up and receiving her college education in Kentucky, she taught elementary school for two years. When she married James Chadwick Mullins on October 5, 1941, she became his partner for eternity. They lived and raised their daughter in Clarksdale, MS, leaving there after 20 years, they went on a mission to Stratford, Ontario, Canada, later resettling in Clarksville, TN. Chad and Cyd moved to College Station in 1993 to be closer to their daughter and grandsons.
Cyd was a loving, giving and kind homemaker. No one entered her home without being offered a meal and no one ever left hungry. Even in her later years, she prepared dinners, suppers and soups for her grandchildren and great grandchildren to have when they got home. Her love and care flowed from her and into all that knew her.
Cyd was preceded in death by her husband, her first daughter, Diana Dale; sisters, Mae Robertson and Bertie Clagett; brothers, Virgil Reed and John Reed.
Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Cherry and David Hickson of College Station; grandsons, Sam & his wife Stephanie Hickson of Lansing, MI, Carson & his wife Laura Hickson of Crockett, TX, and Reed & his wife Gina Hickson of College Station. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory twenty-one great grandchildren and her former daughter-in-law, Camille Hickson.
