Betty was born August 8, 1951, in Bryan, Texas, to the late Joe and Annie Holick of Snook, Texas. She attended and graduated from Snook High School in 1969. She began working at Moore Business Forms, and when the company relocated to another state, she moved her career to Texas A&M University and retired from the Soil Testing Lab in 2016.
Wherever she went, Betty was known for her cooking and her desire to feed people. If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve had her cooking. She was a member of First Baptist Church Bryan where she was active in the church and her group life class, Closer Walk. In June 2017, she and a dear friend began a ministry at her church called God’s Gals, where ladies of the church and community were provided a night of fellowship, encouragement/entertainment, and food. When Betty began, she fed a group of around 90 attendees. At her final event in May, she fed well over 400. She was happiest checking the sales ads, cooking for and serving her church, and anyone she could.
She was a loving wife, Mom, Nana, aunt, sister, daughter and friend. All who knew Betty will miss her tremendously. We look forward to being reunited with our sister in Christ in eternity.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to First Baptist Church Bryan - A Closer Walk, in her memory.
