Mother Mattie Mae Booker passed away on October 15, 2022, at the graceful age of 82. She was born on October 31, 1939 to Mr. Moses and Willie Mae Shores in Orrville, Al. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles L Booker, son Clarence Z. Fisher Sr. and grandson Tae Slaughter.
Mattie most cherished being surrounded by her children, grand kids and friends. She loved fashion and beautiful hats.For over 20 years Mother Booker served faithfully on the mothers board at Shiloh Baptist Church and Servants of Christ Church Inc. both of which were lead by Pastor Rev Dr. Donald L. Cantrell, Sr. She will be remembered most for her incredible faith. Even when she was not her best, she would always say "The Lord knows best."
Mother Mattie, retired from the Atlanta Public Schools system after 28 years of service.
To carry on and cherish her memory are the loved ones she left behind: Daughters; Vallory Russell and Twennia Slaughter. Sons; Melvin Fisher, Eddie Fisher, and Mantino (Tiffany) Johnson - all of Atlanta, GA. Grandchildren; Adrien Powell, Clarence Fisher Jr., Eric Fisher, Brennen Fisher (PA), Toyrie Slaughter (AL), Richara Russel-Hughley, Tori and Kelsey Johnson, Lisa Lewis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
Mattie was blessed to have 15 great-grandchildren.
