Hi, family of Mattie Neal:
This is a blast from the past--I am sure I haven't seen any of you in almost 50 years!   I am Jeff Waters and my mom is Betty Waters, daughter of Mary Etta Moody Smith, Mattie's sister.  I grew up in Dalton, GA and my folks (Betty and Marshall) still live in that area.  They both turned 87 this year.  I have a faint memory of me and my family visiting Mattie (and maybe Vicki and Wesley?--I do remember those are her kids' names) at her home in College Park in the mid 70s, and that's the last memory I have of making any contact with your family.  If any of you came to my grandmother Etta's visitation or funeral in Dalton in 1999, we may have seen each other then.  I recently retired from full-time work and I started poking around with genealogy websites and came upon your mom's obituary as part of the Moody side of my family .   I'm sorry for your loss and I hope all is well with you all.  I don't know how this dignitymemorial.com website works, but it indicated that I could send a message "to the family," so I don't know who this will go to.
