Lillie Ruth Hickson

Lillie Ruth Hickson, a strong woman in strength and character who loved everyone who came across her path. She was always smiling and laughing, was born June 27, 1940 to the late William & Mattie Mae Ellington of Fayetteville, Georgia. She was the fourth of six children.

Lillie was married to Eugene (Teddy) Hickson and out of that union were four children. As a devoted wife, mother, and home maker she was the most generous person who unselfishly loved and took care of her family.

She was preceded in death by her late husband Eugene Hickson, her brothers William (Bill), Leroy, and her sister Annie Lee.

Lille was baptized at an early age at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Georgia under the leadership of Rev. Brown. Lillie had to stop school in grade 8th to start working.

She later joined Lordship Christian Church under the leadership of Pastor Michael Pace. While attending at Lordship she served as a faithful usher and attended Sunday school regularly.

Lillie enjoyed going to church, shopping, laughing, watching TV, going out to eat, being with her family, hanging out with her sister Nellie, and praising God. Her favorite scripture was (Trust in the Lord) Proverbs 3:5

Lillie leaves to cherish her memory; four daughters, Patricia Pruitt (Henry), Patty Hickson, Machelle Henry, and Cynthia Broughton (Vincent), one sister Nellie Mae Bridges, one brother Waymond Ellington, ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A visitation for Lillie will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Garden, 5755 Mallory Road, College Park, Georgia 30349. A celebration of life will occur Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Lordship of Christ Christian Church, 278 Lees Lake Rd, Fayetteville, GA. An interment will occur Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Forest Lawn Memorial Garden, 5755 Mallory Road, College Park, Georgia 30349.
