Fannie Mae Wadley was born August 2, 1927, the 11th child born out of 12 children, the youngest girl in the family. She was the loving daughter of Frank and Ella Cunningham Reed. Fannie was born in Fuquay-varina North Carolina where she attended school.
Fannie was incredibly bold and independent to the point that she left home at the young age of 19 and moved to Philadelphia PA to live with her brother Frank. While in the “City of Brotherly Love”, Fannie met and fell in love with Charlie F Wadley Sr. and after dating a short time they were married in May of 1948. Fannie Mae Wadley was a dedicated worker at the Bryn Mawr Hospital where she committed 50+ years as a Dietitian Specialist, she retired in 1990.
Fannie Mae’s life was full and blessed, her legacy will be remembered by her son, Charlie Floyd (Grace) Wadley, her daughter Suzanne Wadley, 5 Grandchildren, 1 preceded her in death, 4 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandson and a host of nieces and nephews. We will forever be impacted by her life and will treasure the many experiences with her.
Fannie Mae went to sleep for the final time on September 3, 2024 with the hope that she will see us all in the Resurrection.
