Betty was born November 17, 1924 in Hamilton, Ohio to Bill and Lois Whitehill Arnold and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1942. She married the love of her life, Cecil Widau, on February 28, 1948. Since adolescence, Betty was employed at Oxford Laundry Service, retiring in 1989 as Assistant Manager. She was a member of Bath United Methodist Church and enjoyed bowling in her leisure time. Betty’s main focus was her family, providing love and support to all. She was the matriarch of the five generation family.
Betty is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Beverly K. Sizemore and Curt of Bath; Patricia C. Reuss and Dennis of Liberty; her daughter-in-law: Betty Jo Widau of Beavercreek, Ohio; her grandchildren: David Widau, Cheryl Widau, Curt Sizemore, Dan Sizemore, Goldie Groen, Michael Reuss and Matt Reuss; her great-grandchildren: Trent, Will, Ella and Lilly Widau; Maegan Peloe; Kendra and Kyle Sizemore, Cece, Evie, Ally and A.J. Groen; Karagan, Kameryn and Tiberius Reuss; her great-great-grandchildren: Abram and Wyatt Peloe; several nieces and nephews.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Cecil Widau, who died July 17, 2000; her children: Judy Ketcham and Randall L. Widau; her siblings: Leona Arnold Huber, Harold and Charles Arnold.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Baker Chapel, College Corner, Ohio with Pastor Malcolm Green of East Side United Methodist Church, Connersville, officiating. Burial will follow in College Corner Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. where memorial contributions may be made to the Knolls of Oxford Healthcare Pavilion.
