Richard Beck passed away peacefully on Monday, 2/6/23 in Rockledge, Fl at the age of 80. Richard will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and good friend. He was born in Kokomo, Indiana on July 13, 1942. Richard graduated from Kokomo High School in 1960 where he enjoyed playing basketball.
Richard went into the Army reserves after high school and honored that commitment for four years. During his time in the reserves, he moved to Melbourne, Florida in 1962 He started working at Kennedy Space Center and started a family. Richard was a great father to his two children Trish and Tony, and they have fond memories of their childhood. Both kids were active in sports and Richard was involved in all their activities.
While Richard was working with ITT, he traveled to Turkey and the Virgin Islands, where he found his love for Reggae music. Richard also loved some old school country music! He enjoyed taking his shirt off and lounging in the sun. Notre Dame was his college of choice when it came to football and FSU was a close second. He was fortunate enough to attend the Notre Dame vs. FSU football game when they played in South Bend a few years ago and it was certainly a highlight for him. Nascar was also something he loved to watch and in his younger days, would volunteer at the track for race week in Daytona.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Maxine Beck, and is survived by his daughter Trish (Kevin), son Tony (Yvette), his five grandchildren, Lauren, Holly (Jared), Gunnar, Abby and Katie and a great grandson, Waylon.
Trish would like to thank the staff at Palm Cottages in Rockledge for their help and care of Richard during the last few years. She also is grateful to the ladies of Hospice.
There are no services planned for Richard at his time but if you would like to honor him, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
