She was born on May 2, 1934 in Aransas Pass, Texas, to parents William and Danjas Turner.
Becky moved to Brevard County with her family when she was in high school. She was working as a car hop at a drive in when she met her husband, A. Wayne Mathis. They were married when she was 22 and had three children together. However, Becky had many kids calling her “mom” when she worked as the score keeper for the softball games her daughters played in and her son coached.
Becky loved to do puzzles, many types of crafts, and to explore garage sales.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 35 years, A. Wayne Mathis; her son, John Mathis; her sisters, Frida Vickers and Billie Hall; and her grandson, Paul Smith.
She is survived by her daughters, Jerrie Smith and Patty Bee Cross; her sister, Bobbie Burnett; and her granddaughter, Shannon N. Cross.
A Celebration of Life will be held June 16, 2017 at 2 pm at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home.
