Philip Phil F Boyd

Philip Francis Boyd, 69, of Port St. John, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 2, 2012. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, he was the rock of his family. He was born on April 28, 1943, in Mitchell, South Dakota, son of the late Gerald (Gene) and Wilma Boyd.

Phil is survived by Linda, his wife of 41 years; son Shawn Boyd (Amie Randall) of Port St. John; grandchildren Mariah Boyd and Nate Norris; sisters Nora Boyd of Rockledge, Carol (Larry) Nissen of Merritt Island, Barbara Revels of Lexington, South Carolina, and Mary (Rick) Orahood of Rockledge; 2 nieces, 9 nephews, 4 grandnieces, 9 grandnephews; and his beloved dog Cookie.

Phil loved the outdoors, fishing, and most of all he loved his grandchildren. His wonderful sense of humor, teasing, and playful attitude made him a gentle giant. The love he showed his family was unsurpassable.

A memorial service will be held at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home in Sharpes, Florida at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 6, 2012. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
