Marie “Mary Rose” Martin, 93, died Mar. 5, 2025, at Rockledge Regional Hospital, after battling health challenges. Born June 30, 1931, in Old Town, Maine, she was the daughter of Walter and Beatrice (Boudreau) Lizzotte. She was the last survivor of her siblings Walter “Gubby” Lizzotte, Beatrice “Vange” Desjardins, and Jean-Marie “John” Lizzotte.
She attended and graduated from John Bapst High School, Bangor, Maine. Marie was employed by Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company in Miami as a service assistant and later transferred to the Cocoa facility. She married the love of her life Ernest Martin in June 1958, in Coral Gables, FL, and together they nurtured a family that grew to include five loving children. She re-entered the workforce after the passing of her husband and was employed by Brevard County School Board as a bus matron for Americans with Disabilities until retirement. She enjoyed a close relationship with Christ and passed her faith down to her family. She was loved by her family and many close friends. She always found a way to help and to take care of others (Helping Hands, Meals on Wheels, Rosary Group, and other church involvement), while still giving to others, leaving behind a legacy of kindness that will be cherished by all who knew her. Marie was an active member in her church community, St Mary Catholic Church in Rockledge, FL.
