It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Lee Deters announce her sudden passing, peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the age of 86. Linda was welcomed into the world on April 16th, 1935, by parents, Lindsay and Alice Masterson on a sunny day in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Linda lived a full and warm life, filled with joy. To know Linda was to to love her. Her legacy is endless love, deep generosity and kind heartedness, unwavering faith, her passion for hosting family celebrations, preparing large Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts, creating music and art, and memorable times around her children and grandchildren were among her greatest joys.
Linda spent most of her life in Atlanta Georgia, where she built Jolin Catering, a successful catering company for over 20 years with her husband, Joe Deters. She was well-known as a young woman aspiring to be an Opera singer and later brought this talent to an Atlanta-based, nationally recognized, traveling Christian praise choir. Not only was Linda a wonderful chef but a self-taught pianist and an accomplished oil paint artist. Her art is a legacy to her family. Linda had a true servant's heart and found many ways to serve others through her lifetime. After her husband, Joe, passed away in 2003, Linda retired and moved back to her parents’ home of Titusville, Florida where she lovingly cared for her Mother, Alice Masterson, and Aunt, June Carter and became a hospice nurse where she generously provided care and comfort to many residents of Titusville. She loved spending her free time with a warm cup of coffee on her back porch reflecting on fond family fishing memories, enjoying the natural wildlife that lived on the lake and simply soaking in God's glory. Late in her life she met Charles Brown, they shared a special bond during the remainder of her life and he will miss her dearly.
Linda Deters is survived by 4 children, Lee Ann Casazza (James) of Milton, FL, John Deters (Tina) of Atlanta GA, Joey Deters of Lawrenceville Ga, and Cheryl Deters of Titusville FL; 14 grandchildren ; and many great grandchildren. She was a wife, a wonderful mother, an aunt, a grandmother, a great grandmother and friend to many.
She was strong in her Christian faith and believed that she would spend eternity with her loved ones in Heaven. She would want us to live with a joyful heart to share the hope that we have eternal life with others and to know that she waits to welcome us at the gate.
Her celebration of life ceremony will take place at 10am at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home where we invite you to join our family to honor Linda's life. Followed by graveside service at 11:00am at Brevard Memorial Park.
