Lewis was born on May 25, 1935 in Thorofare, NJ as the 8th of 9 children. He served in the Army for two years, including time in Korea. Marlene Howden, his high school sweetheart, became his wife in 1957, and the pair enjoyed 66 years of marriage together. In 1963, Lewis moved his family to Merritt Island, FL.
Lewis made a career as an electrical engineer, earning his Bachelor's from FIT. He worked on the Apollo Space Program, on flight simulators, and spent a total of 31 years with General Electric. After retiring, he continued to work as a handyman for over thirty years. He was always tinkering with something, fixed everything he could, and built five houses over his lifetime.
Lewis always lived an active and full life. From roaming the woods of his childhood home, to high school sports, to camping with his children, and playing with his grandchildren, he always enriched the lives of his family and friends with his sense of fun and adventure. Some of his favorite activities were fishing and crabbing on the river, square dancing, and taking his family with him to Utah for annual ski trips.
Lewis had a deep love for Jesus. He was generous and hospitable to all and always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He is dearly loved and respected by those who knew him.
Lewis is survived by his wife, Marlene Greenwood; his sons, Mark Greenwood (Linda) and Michael Greenwood (Theresa); his daughter, Cindy Robbins (Joe); his grandchildren, Sharon Beutel (Brandon), Jesse Robbins, Peter Robbins, Bethany Robbins, Stephen Greenwood, Danielle Bowden (Zach), and Alyssa Taylor (Steven); his great-grandchildren, Frederick Lewis Beutel, Evander Bowden, and Vara Bowden; his brother, Charles “Fuzzy” Greenwood (Barbara); and many nieces and nephews. Lewis joins his sweet daughter, Linda Hahn in Heaven.
