He attended Illinois Institute of Technology from 1945 until 1948 and graduated from the Air War College in 1969.
He saw combat service in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was the recipient of the Master Army Aviation Badge, seven Air Medals, two Distinguished Flying Cross, Soldiers Medal, and the Legion of Merit with two Oak Leaf Clusters.
His wife, Dorothy E. Goodrich, preceeded him in death. Survivors include his sons, John A. (Kim) Goodrich of Chuluota, Florida and Steven Goodrich of Fort Smith, Arkansas; daughters Sandra (Steve) Roberts of Knoxville, Tennessee and Sherry (Bob) Watts of Fort Smith, Arkansas; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 24 at 11:00am at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, Cocoa.
