Dedicated Wife, Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Joann Collins, age 91, of Cocoa, FL, passed into God's hands from natural causes March 18, 2015. She was an incredible wife, involved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend to all. She was a wonderful example of faith, hope and charity. A native of River Rouge, MI, Joann moved to Florida in 1974 from Covington, LA.
Joann was a Choir Director, a music educator, an organist, owned a music store and also a children’s boutique. She attended First United Methodist Church of Cocoa Beach, where she was the choir director for many years. She also attended Mariner’s Methodist Church in Brooksville. She was a longtime member of the Brevard Chorale, Space Coast Oratorio Society, and the Lost Lake Singers. She lived a life full of music and loved attending her grandson’s concerts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Floyd Collins.
Joann is survived by two sons: Donald F. Collins, Jr. (Deborah) and Harold E. Collins (Patty), both of Mandeville, LA; five daughters: Sharmon Wright of Allentown, PA; Christine Fletcher (Donald) of Mandeville, LA; Donna Collins of Cocoa, FL; Dorothy Ferrara (David) of Burlington, KS, and Patrice Morse (Allen) of Melbourne, FL; sister, Irene Milam of MI; 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Sunday, March 22, from 6 - 6:30pm with a Celebration of Life to begin at 6:30pm at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
