On Wednesday, November 9, 2022 Gerald E. “Taco” Teague, a beloved husband and father, passed away at 89 years old. Born in Roanoke, Virginia to Arthur T. and Alvy Teague Hamilton and adopted by Edward and Evelyn King Teague and raised in Denver, Colorado.
Gerald graduated from Regis Jesuit High School, then enlisted in the Navy. Gerald served honorably and achieved rank of AT3. After service to his country, he attended the University of Colorado - Boulder receiving a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He later earned an MBA from Florida State University. Gerald started work in 1958 for Douglas Aircraft Company in the Aerospace industry. He worked on the Thor missile, Delta II rocket, Spacelab and Space Station. The highlight of his career was working on the Apollo program. He retired from McDonnell Douglas as a Senior Manager in 1996. His hobbies included: boating, camping, hunting, fishing, trap shooting, cars, motorcycles and cruising. He also enjoyed singing, playing trumpet, guitar, ukulele, cards, and time with family and friends. He attended Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in North Carolina and Cross Bridge Church in Florida.
He is survived by his wife Mary E. Teague. Children; Christine Therber, Theresa Teague, Lawrence Teague (wife Aida), Cassandra Carroll (husband David). Grandchildren; Alexis Ramsey (husband Michael), Kelly Floyd (husband Gerard Patrick), Kathryn Carroll, Heidi Therber, Jason Carroll. Great grandchildren; Olivia Ramsey, Sailor and Emmy Floyd. He was preceded in death by daughter Linda Teague, son-in-law Paul Therber, son David Niemann, three brothers and two sisters.
A visitation for Taco will be held Sunday, November 20, 2022 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Cross Bridge Church, 651 Barnes Blvd., Rockledge, Florida. A funeral service will occur Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Cross Bridge Church of God, 651 Barnes Blvd., Rockledge, Florida. A graveside service will occur Monday, November 21, 2022 at 9:30 AM at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US Highway 1, Mims, Florida.
