Garfield Burch

Deacon Garfiled Burch entered this life on August 22, 1927, in Miami, Florida. He was born to proud parents Mr. John R. Burch and Mrs. Ethel Smith Burch. Deacon Burch was the 3rd child (and a twin) of 7 children. One brother preceeded him in death. Deacon Burch received his education in Miami, Florida. He joined the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church of South Miami, Florida.

Deacon Burch entered into the U.S. army. After serving his country, he moved to Cocoa, Florida - where he met and married the love of his life, Mrs. Ida Mae Simmons.

He then joined the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. He served on the Deacon Board and also in the male choir.

3 Daughters: ( a loving daughter: Deaconess Jacqueline Small (Deacon Hezekiah) of Miami, Florida

Mrs. Kathy Price (Matthew) of Miami, Florida and Mrs. Laureatha Preston of Cocoa, Florida

Brothers: Mr. Barfield Burch (his twin brother) of Miami, Florida; Mr. Richard Brown of Hawkinville, Georgia;

Mr. Candice J. Burch (Alberta) of Wilton, California

Sisters: Ms. Edith Burch Willis, of Miami, Florida; Ms. Esther Burch of Miami, Florida

2 Sons: Mr. Sylvester Grant (Deaconess Johnie Mae) of Port St. John, Florida; Mr. Eugent W. Grant (Marion) of Fernandina

Beach, Florida; and brother Tony J. Robinson who preceeded him in death.
