

Frederick is survived by his wife, Mildred Patricia Collins (Pat); his children, Hazel Heffner, Joy Hussing, Patricia May, Frederick C Collins Jr (wife Elizabeth), Steven Collins (wife Kat); his grandchildren, Tabitha Fuller (husband-John), Lynda Brunson, Theresa Rosato-Hurricane (husband Michael), Christopher Hussing, Jeffrey Hussing (wife Julie), Troy Lovel, Brandy Lindsey (husband Michael), Bianca Kirschner, Dylan Collins, Destiny Collins; 18 Great-Grandchildren,10 Great Great-Grandchildren, and his nephews and nieces.
He is preceded by his birth parents, mother, Hazel Harper Padone, father, Frank McClellan; adoptive parents Douglas and Nell Collins, siblings; Frances Rhodes, Lawrence Hand, Emily Hand, Elizabeth (Betty) Morgan, and Lester Padone.
He served as a Marine from 1945-1973, with service in World War II, is a veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded the Riffle Marksman badge, Pistol Marksman badge, five Certificates of Good Conduct, five Honorable Discharges, with four reenlistments during his tenure and retired at the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Frederick was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed family camp outs at the homestead with all his children, grandchildren and friends. He cherished his animals and often was called Dr. Doolittle as they adored him and listened to him as if they were human. He was a problem-solver who often took on difficult and unwanted projects around the house and always kept busy outside tending to the property he was so fond of. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
The family of Frederick wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Advent Health Hospice Care Team-Blue (Laura, Eileen and Valerie) for their sincere assistance to the family and his care during his last weeks at home. The family was blessed and grateful to spend his 95th birthday and celebrate his life with him during this distressing time.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 1:00pm. Visitation will be from 12:00pm to 1:00pm with a funeral service to follow at 1:00pm at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home, Cocoa, Florida. Interment will follow in Brevard Memorial Gardens.
