Born in Boggs, West Virginia at the family farm, Ethel grew up with four brothers and three sisters. She attended a one room school house and worked on the farm. She went on to a job in a shirt tail factory making army uniforms and later moved to Akron, Ohio where she and her sister were riveter and buffer on airplane wings at the Firestone Factory. After moving to Titusville in 1955 and raising her children, Ethel started driving a school bus and retired with 25 years of service.
She was a loyal member of the First United Methodist Church of Titusville where she enjoyed her Trinity Sunday School Class and Patch Work Friends Club. Other activities included Primetimers at Temple Baptist Church, quilting, sewing for her family, playing cards and games, and spending precious time with her family and friends.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Herbert W Pugh. She is survived by her son, Roger Pugh of Titusville; daughter, Loretta McClintock of West Newton, Pennsylvania; brother, Carl Bragg of Jonesboro, Arkansas; four loving grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at 12:30PM Saturday, September 5, 2015 at First United Methodist Church: 206 S Hopkins Ave, Titusville, FL 32796.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the food pantry at Titusville First United Methodist Church.
