In 1954, she married the love of her life, Marvin, and they moved to Cocoa, Florida where they raised their three children.
Dorothy, more affectionately known as Dort or Dot to family and friends, was a devoted wife, loving mother, and faithful friend. She took great pride in supporting her husband’s career in the space industry and cherished her role as a mother and grandmother. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by her family.
Dot worked as a school secretary at Cambridge Elementary for 23 years before retiring in 1993. Throughout her life, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, crafting, and sewing. She was also quite a talented painter and master puzzle solver.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Donna, and siblings Ruth, Evelyn, and Ernest.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Marvin M. Kelly and her sister Gerri Horner (Jack). Also surviving are children Steve Kelly (Colleen) and John Kelly (Becky); and grandchildren Meghan Kelly and Mitchell Kelly.
The family will hold private services.
