Darren proudly served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946 aboard the USS Indiana during WW2 in the Pacific Theater (“the big one” as he called it) as a Seaman 2nd Class V-6, manning a 40mm anti-aircraft gun.
In 1988 he retired from General Dynamics, Convair division, where he worked as the Material Operations Supervisor since 1956. In his younger years, he loved traveling with his wife and family in their camper all over the U.S. He was quick-witted, funny, full of charisma and charm, and he was the best Husband, Daddy, and Poppie (to all his grandchildren) you could ever ask for.
