With a career spanning decades at Southern Bell, Bellsouth, and AT&T, Cheryl had a distinguished career as a service representative and quality assurance trainer. It was her passion for worker’s rights that drove her to become a powerful voice and leader for the Communications Workers of America (CWA) labor union and the Brevard Central Labor Council. Her perseverance and excellence were exemplified by her being named CWA Woman of the Year in 2015 and by the union for her 40 years of service as Local 3101’s Secretary.
Cheryl’s impact went beyond her professional achievements. Cheryl was a community leader and a woman of deep faith. She was the Boy Scouts Pack Leader for Pack 322 ensuring hundreds of Cub Scouts develop character, citizenship, fitness, and leadership skills. As a founding member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, she was a beacon of hope and faith inspiring countless people with her kindness, compassion, and generosity. She brought joy to the church community singing as a member of the Faith Family Choir and as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. Her warm presence made everyone feel welcome.
Cheryl’s love for life was contagious and she found great joy in the simplest things like playing bingo with family and friends. But above all, she was an ardent mother who cherished her family. She is survived by her loving sons, Louis, Chris, Jean-Pierre, and Daniel, who will forever carry her spirit and legacy in their hearts.
Cheryl left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone she touched as a mother, grandmother, union steward and local officer, and influential member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church community. Cheryl’s unwavering dedication to her family, her community, and the causes she believed in will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
