It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Marilyn M. Page, loving mother and grandmother, at the age of 88. Marilyn was born to her father, Lowell Ross Brown and Mother, Irene M. Brown (Cummins), in her childhood town of Morenci, AZ in May 1928.
She attended Arizona State University for four years while she completed a degree in Business. She worked for the Arizona State Auditor for a year and a half, before landing in Coalinga, CA after a friend told her about a job opening as the Business Secretary for the Coalinga-Huron Unified School District. Marilyn remained working for the school district for 37 years as a Business Secretary, Accounts Payable, Accountant and eventually Payroll until retiring in 1990.
In the late 1950's, Marilyn met the love of her life, Joseph A. Page Jr. and they married in July 1958. Joe and Marilyn had their first son, Michael A. Page, currently of Roseville, CA, in November 1960; followed three and a half years later by their second son, Jeffrey S. Page, currently of Roseville, CA, in June 1964.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Lowell Brown and her mother, Irene Brown as well as her husband, Joseph A. Page Jr. in November 1979 and her brother, John W. Brown in December 2005.
Marilyn enjoyed counted cross stitch and other needle work as her passion, as well as spending her spare time and vacations with her husband and sons and later her grandchildren. They were always happiest together and Marilyn remarked that she loved that they could always find laughter with one another. In 2004, she moved to Roseville, CA to be closer to her sons, her daughter-in-law, Rebecca A. Page and four grandchildren: Elizabeth N. Page (26), Austin J. Page (22), Joseph E. Page (20) and Maxton V. Page (16).
Marilyn was a happy person who loved life and all the experiences it held. She greatly loved her family and friends who appreciated what an amazing, heartfelt and generous soul she was. She was always able to find the humorous side of life and at times was not able to contain her laughter. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her and had the joy of her love in their lives.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society, the Coalinga Community Foundation or the American Heart Association.
