Above all else Steve was a man of God who studied his bible regularly and lived every day striving to be the man God wanted him to be. He was an avid member of the NRA and a true American patriot. He co-founded a Facebook page called Silent No More that shared conservative values, a belief in upholding our constitution and preserving America and the American way of life. He was a supporter of Promise Keepers, a Christian organization for men dedicated to supporting each other in their journey to becoming better fathers, husbands and brothers in Christ.
He enjoyed spending time camping, fishing, playing golf, playing his guitar, listening to country music, and sharing a craft beer or two with his friends and family. You often saw him in his black cowboy hat, which he considered part of any formal dress wear. He enjoyed wood working projects, crafting many personal pieces for family and friends, and building items from scratch. Steven was passionate about his family, attended reunions and holiday gatherings every chance he could. He enjoyed keeping in touch with old friends from high school and was always eager to lend a had to anyone that needed it.
Steve worked at Phillips 66 for 21 years and took great pride in doing his job well. He was a shift leader and a mentor to many. He enjoyed teaching others and sharing his knowledge about the job he was so passionate about.
Steve leaves behind his loving wife of 29 years, Sarah Freeman Teel, daughter, Jordan Teel of Round Rock, Texas, daughter Amanda Bledsoe and her husband Mike and beloved granddaughter, Avery Kate, of Spring, Texas. His sister, Amy Teel of Round Rock Texas. Parents, Lain and Joanie Teel of Corsicana, Texas and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and extended family as well as his four-legged friend, Gus. Steven is preceded in death by grandparents, CW and Barbara Teel and Bill and Hazel Owen.
A celebration of life will be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Promise Keepers in his name.
