Robert Kingsley Gregg, 88, of Lake Jackson, TX, passed away on March 4, 2019. Robert was born to parents Clarence and Eleanor Gregg on August 6, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois. Robert married Mary Virginia Brown in Evanston, Illinois on December 28, 1952. They were married for nearly 63 years.
Robert served proudly in the United States Army and Army Reserve from 1952 to 1958, and was stationed in West Germany in 1953 and 1954. He held a BS in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Indiana University, and worked for 28 years as a chemical engineer for Dow Chemical Company.
In his leisure time, Robert enjoyed playing golf, college football, and classic films. He loved regaling family and friends with stories about his experiences in the army or in his work, which often took him to faraway parts of the world.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Eleanor Gregg; his wife, Virginia Gregg; and infant daughter Pamela Gregg.
Robert is survived by his sons Jeffery Gregg, Thomas (Lisa) Gregg, and Richard Gregg; daughter Laurie (Greg) Wiggers; grandchildren Jessica (Joey) Carlton, Elissa (Joey) Gray, and Dylan (Carolyn) Gregg; and great-grandchildren Kathrynn Carlton, Dawson Mangham, Solomon Gray, and Samuel Gray.
