Robert served at the U.S. Post Office in Lake Jackson for over 40 years as a letter carrier, and was a familiar and well loved face to his customers. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age, and faithfully served God his entire life. He was a charter member of Victory Fellowship Church in Brazoria, and was still very active in the church. Robert loved Elvis, family reunions, movies and comic books, but most of all he loved his children, grandchildren, cousins, and other dear family members. He had a great relationship with his children and grandchildren and was always present in their lives. He is greatly loved and missed.
Robert is preceded in death by his father, Robert Franklin Gilliam Sr. and sister, Julie Moradi.
Survivors include children Shelley & Stephen Forse, Robbie & Bianca Gilliam and Matthew Gilliam; grandchildren Brooke, James, Isabella, Ethan, Max, Bobby, and Luke.
A Celebration of Robert’s life will take place on Friday, March 28th at First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson, 401 Yaupon St. Lake Jackson, TX 77566 at 1 pm. Visitation will be held from 12 pm to 1 pm at the First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson. Resting place ceremony will immediately follow at Restwood Cemetery.
