“Bob” Barton, age 86 passed away at 9:14am on Sunday Oct 15th at St. Lukes hospital after a brief illness. Bob spent 20 years in the United States Marine Corps. He served several tours over-seas in Australia, Japan, and Vietnam. He was extremely proud of this country and the Marine corps. Bob was the father of Six children and was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Barton and his oldest Son Robert Barton Jr who also served 20+ years in the Marine Corps. He will be missed by his daughters Susan, Patrica, Diane, and his sons Dale (USMC 20+ years) and Billy (USMC 4 years). Bob leaves behind 22 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
If there was anything that needed fixing, he would be right there to get it done. He enjoyed fishing in the gulf. Bob worked for Dow Chemical prior to retiring with his friends at Lake Jackson Manor. Bob attended and taught college in Brazosport and even spent time at MIT in Boston Ma. He was a smart, generous man who was kind to others. Dad, we will miss you, until we meet again with Jesus Christ our lord and savior.
