Ricardo Vela

Ricardo Vela, 61 years old, of Laredo, TX, gained his wings on May 19th, 2022. Ricardo was born to Julia and Horacio Vela on May23rd,1960 in Laredo, TX. Ricardo was married to Raquel Jimenez in Laredo, TX on June 3,1983.

Ricardo was strong-willed man that would never let anything keep him down. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend He was a very outspoken man, with a good heart. He was never scared to say what he felt when asked for his opinion. The strength he had was very admirable, he never gave up and always tried to look at life positively no matter his circumstance. His favorite pastimes were playing chess, family BBQs, watching the grandchildren and debating. He has touched many lives and will be truly missed.

Ricardo is survived by his daughter Raquel Lujan (husband Ricardo); his son Ricardo Vela Jr; four grandchildren, Zariah Vela, Isaac Pirtle, Ricky Vela, and Emmett Lujan; four sisters, Julie Vela, Sara Lopez, Pat Vela, Diana Vela; four brothers, Jaime Vela (wife Monica), Jesus Vela, Javier Vela (wife Aracely), Horacio Vela(wife Rosie)

Ricardo is preceded in death by wife Raquel Vela; grandson, Ricardo Antonio Lujan; parents, Julia and Horacio Vela sister Leticia Anderson, and many other loved ones.

A Visitation for Ricardo will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Restwood Funeral Home, 1038 W. Plantation Dr, Clute, Texas 77531.

A Celebration of Ricardo's lifewill be held Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 12:00 PM, followed by the graveside service at Restwood Memorial Park.
