Raquel Vela

Raquel was born to Leonelo and Beatriz Jimenez on January 18th,1957 in Laredo, TX.

Raquel married Ricardo Vela in Laredo, TX on June 3, 1983.

Raquel was a simple woman with extraordinary values. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She never complained about anything and was always willing to help anyone in any way she could. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and going to garage sales. She enjoyed many things but her favorite past time was spending time with her family. Family was always key to her happiness. She has touched many lives and was a mother, mentor, friend for those who did not have one. She truly will be missed by all.

Raquel is preceded in death by her parents Leonelo and Beatriz Jimenez; grandson, Ricardo Antonio Lujan; brother, Luis Jimenez, and many other loved ones.

Raquel is survived by her husband, Ricardo Vela; her daughter, Raquel Lujan (husband Ricardo);Her son, Ricardo Vela Jr; four grandchildren, Zariah Vela, Isaac Pirtle, Ricky Vela, amd Emmett Lujan; two sisters, Rebecca Jimenez(wife Marta), Guadalupe Dunaway; nine brothers, Leonelo Jimenez, Alfonzo Jimenez, Juan Manuel Jimenez(wife Ofeila), Fernando Jimenez(wife Blanca), Isauro Jimenez, Guillermo Jimenez(wife Mary Anne),Daniel Jimenez, Gerardo Jimenez(wife Michelle), and Gilberto Jimenez.

Serving as pallbearers are Ricardo Vela Jr., Ricardo Lujan, Gerardo Jimenez, Gilberto Jimenez, Daniel Jimenez, Fernando Jimenez

Honorary pallbearers are Ricardo Vela, Isaac Pirtle, Ricky Vela, and Emmett Lujan

Visitation will be held on July 10, 2020 at 5pm at Restwood Funeral Home, 1038 W. Plantation Dr., Clute, TX.

Celebration of Raquel’s Life will be held on July 11, 2020 at 10am at Restwood Funeral Home, 1038 W. Plantation Dr., Clute, TX.
