Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.restwoodfuneralhome.com for the Perry family.
On November the 11th the world lost a great man and his family lost the true definition of a Patriarch. Nelson Joseph Perry passed away peacefully surrounded with love and went home to be with his Lord. He lived his life as a beloved son, brother, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather. Nelson was born to Lloyd and Marie Perry in LaPlace Louisiana on November 10th 1931. He went on to travel the world with Marilyn Perry the love of his life and wife of 66 years. They settled in the Clute Texas area to raise their three daughters and begin to build their family legacy. Nelson was a skilled crane operator and his career took him to the Middle East throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s working on major construction projects in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
Nelson was an avid outdoorsman and an extremely hard worker who set a great example for his children and grandchildren. He loved hunting, fishing, crabbing, carpentry, gardening and a good poker game. Nelson had a unique ability to always make the person he was spending time with feel like they were special to him. His family and friends are going to miss him dearly but they find comfort knowing he is still with us in Spirit and that we will all be reunited with him in our own time.
Nelson is survived by his wife Marilyn Perry, three daughters, Cathy Lowry, Janice Benoit and Darlene Repp. He was blessed with 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
The family invites friends to celebrate his life with us. Visitation will be on Sunday November 21st from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm.
