She soon married Donald William Morrison and they moved to Freeport, Texas in 1946 to begin working at the new Dow Chemical facility. She gave birth to her first of two children in December, 1956 and her second was born May 1958. She was a mother who was there in every sense of the word for her two children.
She never met a stranger and over her lifetime established many long-lasting relationships.
She went to college and got her nursing degree and was a nurse, first at the Dow Chemical hospital and then when it became Brazosport Hospital and finally retired when she was 70 yrs old. Upon retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at her church in various capacities and spending quality time with family. She lived in Lake Jackson for almost 60 years and loved the area. She had moved in 2006 to Georgetown, Texas where she met many new friends and loved to play cards on an almost daily basis.
Maxine enjoyed life to its fullest, always had a smile on her face, a positive spirit, she was a dedicated Christian, and provided encouraging words to everyone she encountered. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Hazel Odom Dailey, a granddaughter Amber Morrison and a grandson, Timmie Morrison.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Morrison and her husband Michael Manoucheri, son Tim Morrison and wife Colleen Morrison, grandchildren Ashley Morrison, Megan Alloy Baird & Todd Matthew Alloy. Also 6 great grandchildren with whom she loved to spend time with.
Many thanks to Liz and Sarah with Choice Hospice for providing daily support and communication for Mom. Funeral services to be determined by the family as she wished to be buried in Jacksonville, Texas alongside her parents. May she rest in peace surrounded by family, friends and God’s love.
