April 28, 1994 – February 15, 2020
On February 15, 2020, Madison Jewel Gee (Maddie) went home to be with her Lord at the young age of 25.
Maddie was born to Eddie and Christi Gee on April 28, 1994 in Lake Jackson, Tx.
At the tender age of 8, she trusted in Christ as her Lord and Savior on April 3, 2003 and was baptized six days later on April 12, professing her faith before family and friends.
Her Facebook profile says it best: “Just a Texas girl who loves Jesus, her family, the mountains, laughter, and all things Southern.” Maddie adored her family and was the perfect middle child, “mothering” her younger sister and looking up to her brother she admired. She was a daddy’s girl and her mother’s “mini me.”
Maddie lived in her hometown of Lake Jackson until she was 17 when the family moved to Lynchburg, Va. She called Virginia home for 7 years before moving back to Texas in 2019 and settling in Katy. She grew up in the Hope Fellowship Church family and matured as a teen as her family attended Grace Bible Church. While in Lynchburg, she served and worshipped with both Redeeming Grace Baptist and Heritage Baptist.
After moving back to Texas, she researched churches all over the Houston area since she had a flexible job that would allow her to live anywhere. She chose to live in Katy so that she could become a part of BridgePoint Bible Church. She was already teaching 1st and 2nd graders and making countless connections as she studied the Bible with her new friends and life group.
Maddie graduated high school at the age of 17 and attended Liberty University in Lynchburg. She completed her undergraduate degree in Advertising and Public Relations at age 19 and graduated from the LU Communications Department with her master’s degree in 2017, shortly after turning 23.
Maddie worked for the last 9 months as an Account Manager in the marketing industry for Production Solutions. “She served her clients, partners, and colleagues with grace, organization, dedication, intelligence, and empathy,” according to her company’s announcement of her death. Prior to this, she worked for RST Marketing and Genworth Financial, both in Lynchburg, Va.
Her most memorable trait was her trademark smile and the laughter that often accompanied it. Anyone loved by Maddie was loved well. She followed up and checked in on her friends and family relentlessly. She was known for her hospitality and loved to gather friends to her home. In fact, her calendar shows a game night and “breakfast for dinner” that was scheduled at her apartment two nights after she passed.
She stood at the altar with six different friends, serving two of them as Maid of Honor, and was “on deck” for several others who wanted her by their side when their day came.
Maddie is survived by her parents Eddie and Christi Gee; her brother Brandon and his wife Allie; and her sister Makenna. She also leaves behind her maternal grandparents, Ray and Sharon Wells; and her paternal grandparents, Bill and Sue Gee. She was adored by her aunts and uncles: Steven and Ami Wells, Tony and Trish Gee, Shane and Shei Wells, and Kevin and Denise Gee. As the oldest granddaughter on both sides of the family, she had many cousins as well.
