A heart of gold, nurturing warmth, and a love for family that knew no bounds; these are the gifts that she leaves behind in the hearts of her family and friends. On September 29th, 2024, lovingly surrounded by her devoted family, Julie Drake Creekmore went to be with her Lord and Savior.
Julie was born on March 29, 1960, in Freeport, Texas, to Richard and Maudlynn Drake. The oldest of three, she shared a close bond with her sister Lisa and her brother Richard, whom she loved dearly. After graduating from Brazoswood High School in 1978, Julie built a life centered around family, always caring for others. In 2006, she married Fred Creekmore. They would've celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary on October 6th. Julie loved family gatherings, dancing, and making the most of every celebration. Whether it was spontaneous road trips or a day at the farmers market, Julie cherished the simple joys that life offered, always finding beauty in everyday moments. She found the most beauty in being a mom and a nana. For her four daughters, Lindsey, Jacqueline, Kimberly, and Ricy, camping and spending time at the lake will always hold a special place in their hearts. She was always there for her girls, whether it meant special help with a driving test, making up for missing the bus, or driving for hours just to take care of you when you're sick. They will never forget her soft and comforting touch and how she could make anything better with a gentle rub of her thumb. Her family meant the world to her. Julie lit up when her grandchildren were around. It was no secret that they had completely stolen her heart. Memories of her dancing with them, racing with them, and even just curling up to read a book with them will be forever treasured. Julie was not only a devoted mother and nana but also a loyal friend to many. Her nurturing spirit and infectious laughter touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She was always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know her.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Maudlynn Drake, and her beloved sister, Lisa.
