Janie Pena of Richwood passed away February 18, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 3, 1959 to Manuel S. Pena, Sr. and Celia P. Pena in McAllen, Texas. Janie enjoyed going out and dancing with her family and friends. She loved her job at Merit Medical and the friends that she made there. We are so blessed to have had her in our lives and we thank God for that although she left us too soon. She will be deeply missed by her family. And to all who visited Janie, that gave her and showed her words f encouragement, we thank you. Janie is preceded in death by her father, Manuel S. Pena, Sr. and is survived by her mother, Celia P. Pena; her five children: daughters Chastity Rodriguez of Richwood and Maurita Martinez of Danbury; her sons, Larry Cosme Jr., Ignacio Cosme and Dylan Cosme all of Richwood; 2 granddaughters, Celeste Rodriguez and Cara Rodriguez of Richwood; her seven brothers, Manuel S. Pena, Jr. (Anita) and Ruben Pena (Martha) of Kingsville, Ricky Pena of West Columbia, Rodolfo Pena (Jennifer), Johnny Pena, Felix Pena and Albert Pena of Clute; five sisters, Maria Estella Trevino (Robert) of Clute, Gloria Garcia (Americo) of Angleton, Celia Calvillo (Sergio) of Brackettville, Felicita Angulo (Edward) and Olympia Alanis (Artemio) of Clute; aunt, Guadalupe Mata of Clute and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Visitation will be Monday, February 21, 2011 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the Restwood Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held at 6:30 pm Monday in the Restwood Funeral Home Chapel and Pastor Jacinto Salazar will be a guest speaker following the Rosary. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at St. Jerome Catholic Church with Father Jim Lynes officiating. Burial will follow at the Restwood Memorial Park with Manuel S. Pena, Jr., Ruben Pena, Rodolfo Pena, Johnny Pena, Albert Pena and Robert Lee Trevino serving as pallbearers. Online condolences may be left at www.restwoodfuneralhome.com.
