John Houston Nash, (82) of Lake Jackson, Texas passed away on September 25, 2023. John was born to C.R. (Ray) and Kay Nash on November 11, 1940 in Palestine, Texas.
John enlisted in the United States Army shortly after high school. He attended specialty training in Virginia and was assigned to the Army Security Agency (ASA) and posted to the Kagnew Station in Asmara Ethiopia, Africa.
After receiving an honorable discharge, John returned to Texas with his family and settled in Bay City, Texas where he worked for NAPA in several positions. John was an avid and animated golfer and enjoyed all things Longhorns; if anyone wanted to find John he was on the golf course or watching Texas Longhorn sports.
John is survived by his wife Yvonne, son John Nash, daughters Lisa Nash, Julie (Joel) Thomas and Kelly (Paul) Rehak. John had eight grandsons, Austin, Jayden, and Johnny Nash, Joshua (Audrey) and Ethan Santo, Ryan and Zachary Thomas, and Parker Rehak and two granddaughters Kinsley and Peyton Rehak and one great-granddaughter Kiani Santo.
A Celebration of John’s life will be held on November 11, 2023 at 11:00am at First Baptist Church Richwood in Richwood, Texas
